Born in Japan, Hiroshi Watanabe got a degree on photography at the Nihon University in 1975. He settled down then in California in order to establish his own production company in which he produced promotional films during 20 years. In 1995, he decided to focus on his private projects. During his numerous travels, he had the opportunity to photograph people or things on the deep. His work is poetic and delicate. Often black and white, his photographs invite the viewer in a mystery universe in which the time is stoped.
Hiroshi Watanabe exhibits in the US, in Japan and his work is part of permanent collections of several museums (Philadelphia Museum of Art, Houston Museum of Fine Arts among others).
