    Galerie Huit, Arles

In 1958, Life magazine asked Hemingway to write a series of stories about the rivalry between two bullfighters, Luis Miguel Dominguin and Antonio Ordoñez, which was attracting huge crowds. Hemingway followed them for two seasons, between 1959 and 1960, as they met in several breathtaking bullfights.
The editor of Paris-Match, Gaston Bonheur, was also a fan of the bullfight and he gave photographer Jean-Claude Sauer the chance to photograph the contests described by Hemingway in The Dangerous Summer.
The exhibition brings together around thirty of the most powerful photographs of these unforgettable encounters between two men who were friends and brothers-in-law, but absolute rivals in the arena.
