The girl with the accordion

#Missolonghi. The girl with the accordion was playing a rebetiko from another century. Her eyes were showing a certain soft melancoly belonging to sensitive people. The melancoly of people who know that life is absurd from birth, who prefer the travel to the destination, and who dream of another place. Christina Stamatou was the only girl in the orchestra and she was carrying the heaviest instrument. Following the notes of the piece, she did not look at the photographer. Her eyes came into the frame of my lens by chance. They were like her music, proud and free.
