    Rooms of a photojournalist

    "Tim Page gave me the idea of this project. Show as dyptics the war images and the photographs that I made of the places where I was staying. In his words: "Sometimes these rooms close up on us like traps. More often, they are a refuge isolating us from the surrounding craziness." Marc Charuel

    France , 1954

    His first assignment as a War Photographer was in Belfast in 1972, he was only eighteen. Two years later, he was sent to Vietnam. Followed Laos, Burma, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Thailand, the Philippines... He became part of the staff of the French magazine Valeurs Actuelles in 1986 and head of the picture department of Valmonde group in 1996.
