from Friday, October 26, 2012 to Saturday, December 1, 2012
    Galerie XII Paris

The artist couple Clark & Pougnaud started working together in 1998. Based in Paris, they produce around ten images per year, creating a universe from the blend of painting, photography and design. Pougnaud is painter; her inspiration comes from the theatre, particularly scenery and set design. Clark has been working as a studio photographer for 25 years. Their work is centered on the movement of narrative figuration. Their originality can be found in the duality between the use of contemporary digital techniques – they won the Arcimboldo Prize for digital photographic creation – and a visual and pictorial reference to painters of the past (Tribute to Edward Hopper, HSBC Photo Prize 2006) or classical themes (Fairytales, Les bourgeoises d’Angoulême).
